Case Study: "Our Global Classroom" at St Helens
This landmark initiative transformed a 420-student primary academy from siloed, legacy-based digital literacy into a highly engaged, cross-curricular powerhouse. By centering the project on family heritage and geography, students transitioned rapidly from passive media consumers to active digital creators.
The Integrated Cross-Curricular Model
We don't believe in teaching "Computing" in a vacuum. We embed digital tools directly into Geography, Mathematics, Literacy, and History frameworks. This provides a purposeful "hook" for students who typically struggle with paper-based learning.
UKS2: Game Development
Year 5 & 6 pupils programmed interactive geography maze games in Scratch and designed non-linear history slide decks with bilingual oral reports.
LKS2: Digital Surveyors
Year 3 & 4 traced stadium boundaries using polygon tools in Google My Maps, exporting data to Google Sheets to calculate area and perimeter.
KS1: Safe AI Inquiry
Year 2 students researched animal habitats using curated, closed-loop AI databases (NotebookLM) without ever facing the risks of open web searches.
EYFS: Global Roots
Reception pupils captured physical drawings of their family flags and used ChatterPix on iPads to overlay their own recorded voices.
Infrastructure, Logistics & Security
Massive school projects fail without a robust backend. We handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes:
- Scalable Domain Architecture
Organizing Google Workspace student accounts by Graduation Year rather than static class names, eliminating the need for tedious manual migrations every summer.
- Strict AI Walled Gardens
Deploying generative AI safely under the Google Workspace CDPA agreement, ensuring zero Student PII is ever used to train public models.
- The "Trolley Protocol"
Solving the nightmare of uncharged devices by implementing strict physical hardware management procedures and front-loading basic tech fluency to eliminate the "Keyboard Gap."
Launch with a Bang
To generate massive momentum, we kickstart these initiatives with immersive, gamified launch events. For the "Global Classroom," we divided the school into five continental zones. Students used iPads to scan browser-generated QR codes scattered across the corridors, triggering 30-second AI "Cultural Personas" animated by their own teachers!
